I figured I would start a thread for people who may be bored and want to show off a non4x4 related project they may be working on.

I'll start this off with mine.
A few guys on here know I bought Justins quad

Thanks Justin.

As with anything I get interested in it always snowballs into a project
I had to repair a minor oil leak. Just replace an o-ring and I'm done....
next thing I know I'm cutting, welding, painting, pipe bending(thanks Tom),...

Not yet. I still have to sell more stuff on ebay before I will have the money to do that.
With the money from stuff I already sold on ebay I did get new tires, graphics and a seat cover.
Do you like the paint? My old 250r had a red frame and black motor so I figured it would look cool like that too.

Al that looks realy good. Can't wait to see it when it is finished.

This is my quad that I sold a while back but it sure was fun to ride and work on.

Yeah yeah I know it is only a Blaster but I wanted a 2-stroke and it was either this or a Banshee and I couldn't afford that at the time. I am a small guy so this fit me perfectly and I did a lot of work to it. Basically the only things that weren't done was the big bore kit and extended swing arm and A arms in front.

Jon, That blaster looks cool. A freind of mine had one. It surprised every one that rode it. It was pretty quick.

Dave, you work fast. The house looks great. How do you work so neatly? When I renovate it looks like a bomb went off.

hahahah dave DOES NOT work neatly, those are the finished pics pretty much minus the paint. You should of saw there condo in the process, it looked like a bomb went off, but they have come a long way without a doubt. Now if only i could of convinced them to buy a house so i could of designed a new addition but hey can't always get what you want.

uncle al.... you are just crazy, i think its in your blood to take something that is suppose to be real quick and then your like, well i don't like that little itzy bitzy scratch sooooooo why don't i just repaint the whole frame hahahahah, looks good though al, its come a long way. On the other hand, if you ever find yourself bored you can always stop by my house. Either the wrx or the jeep will be in the driveway, theres always something to fix on those vehicles.

speaking of the wrx, does anyone know how to test an o2 sensor to see if its gone bad or not. Im getting check engine lights, one is for the front o2 sensor and one is for the rear o2. the two sensors add up to like 350 bucks so i just don't wanna go out and buy them to find out that they weren't the problem. You guys know how to check them.

Were they o2 rich or o2 lean codes?

matt6669
09-17-2005, 01:25 AM
neither if i remember correctly. The front o2 sensor which is in the up pipe for the turbo was giving a code for the pre heater that is in that specific o2. then there was something wrong with the reading that the rear o2 sensor was getting but i don't remember if it was rich or lean or just not working or something. I got hte codes pulled like a month ago. I plan on replacing the rear o2 neway b/c the wires are hacked up from my modding days when i had a resistor. but the front i don't want to replace if i don't have to. The front is 200 bucks plus 90 for install so if i don't have to replace it i don't want to.

al, as matt said it looked like a bomb went off lol before we got to painting it was a total mess crap was everywhere lol, luckly i didnt have to tare down any walls just paint and lots and lots of cleaning

Justin, i did most of the work my self, my dad did all the spackling and Adriana's uncle did the cutting in for the paint but everything else me and her did.

sweet joe, ill have to bring the hunk up to your house one day and have you check it out. I'm so close to putting it up for sale and i could use the extra cashola for hmm i wonder, maybe buy parts for my truck HAHAHAHA
TECHNICALLY its not offtopic b/c its a non related jeep project that i've under taken, but it'll probably be classified as off topic though ha

on the other hand projects for me besides fixed the scooby and pretending to help my dad redo my brothers room so i can move in, i don't really have any other projects unfortunetly, but im busy enough soo thats ok

Thanks Tom Tom had given me a pipe bender So I figured I would try it out. It works if you go slow. I built this bumper for the quad with it.
I used an old street sign for the aluminum to make the skid plate. I used the cap off of my acetylene tank and my shop press to bend the plate.

wow that looks amazing al!! you definitely are a talented man without a doubt. now you should sell the quad and take the profits to put more mods on the jeep!! hahah. but what a difference from when you go it till now ohh ps don't leave it outside otherwise that nice ragshop seat is gonna go bye bye. Then you'll have to look like a fairy going into the rag shop once again hahahaha.
