hahahah joe if that girl is working there, IM SO THERE!!
whats another job, this working stuff is really starting to not effect me anymore. Im getting into a groove finally after all these years. I went to school and worked all day, came home and was hanging 2x4's and hanging sheetrock with my dad for my new room. Now im off to shower and then do butt loads of hw its fun i must say. I enjoy actually having like 3 jobs and going to school full time, if i didn't i would be so bored its not even funny. I like being busy.

Funny that this is posted. I just got a call from UPS about a job. Might as well put my Class B to work as my computer career is going nowhere fast.

633 bucks in books, you know how pist i was, i was like AHHHH that could be so many parts on my jeep ohhhh how i wish i didn't have to buy books. That was like a low point in my life i was very upset. But none the less im having a blast at school, learning lots, the only downfall to going to one of the highest ranked technology schools in america, is the fact that there is literally like 3 hot chicks and thats it. But ill just have to parole else where hahaha.
Matt
HA! My books came with my school :). All paid straight up, besides food :).

actually, the real kicker will come when you try and sell those things back to get money for next semester's load. "Oh, we're sorry, the school is moving on to the next printing of that book so we won't be buying them back this year. you'll only be able sell back 2 of those 7 books." heard that one the year i paid 523 and only got back 72 and change. or when you hear the business majors paying like 200 for all their books.
be sure to check out bargainbooks.com (something like that, can't quite remember the exact site). if they have what you need then you can usually get them cheaper there than at the bookstore. saved myself about 200 per semester that way. easiest thing to do is find out the ISBN numbers of the books you need and run a search that way so you know you get the right book.
Check even eBay for used books. Most college kids dont even open the books. Half my brothers books are still in plastic wrap. Hes selling them...

amazon UK site has book even cheaper, FYI. I'm a business major and I spend about $1000 for two semesters of books every year. And they MAYBE give me $30 back for the one book they will buy. William Paterson sucks like that.

I worked at UPS for about a year doing double shifts. 3am-7am and then 4pm-10pm with school in between. It was quite the experience let me tell you. They are a good company to progress through the ranks and the benefits are great, but split shifts suck badly. btw, that chica is hot and i think i may just start ordering more items if she will bring them. yay ;)

I have had 4 interviews already with UPS and today I actually had a road test in the big brown truck. I aced the road test, zero points off!!!!! Next week I have to go for a DOT physical and I guess I may have the job pending test results. My interviewer said I will let you know when to give your notice so I think things are looking in my favor. What do you guys think????
Right now I work in IT and layoffs were announced, so come January, I would be out of a job. I have been looking for a new job since last November and there are no jobs at all. I have been offered anywhere from $8-$11 dollars per hour from the few companies that actually called me for an interview. Honestly, how can someone support a family on that?!?!? So that's when I found UPS. I am tired of IT companies because every couple of years there are layoffs and jobs are moved over seas. Happened to me twice already. I hate working at a desk anyway. I think that this career move will end up being good for me and my family.

Good news. I got the job!!! I start training on Monday Oct 17th. This is going to be a big change from IT. Can't wait!!!! The only downside is that I will be stepping out of wheeling and mods for a good 6 months. I will not have any spare money because I need to get health insurance for 6 months until the new insurance starts with UPS. Health insurance is going to be close to $1k per month for me and my family. So what that said, I look forward to wheeling with you guys in the spring but until then I will keep on posting on the boards.

Good luck Bondo....
My UPS guy is always talking about all of the OT they get... Maybe that can pay for a wheeling trip or two.

Bondo, good luck with your new Job. Yea you have to work at UPS for 6 months to get the benifits. I guess thats smart. They probally have people going in and out of the company. I know my freind worked there, then he quit just a month after. Anyway, I hope you get some spare time and money to come wheeling with us again. Always a pleasure! Have fun good luck and dont work too hard! :wtg:
