Hi guys,
So I know we all have different opinions..I am wondering what make/model is the best for off-roading. Try to explain what is better about your model and why it preforms better off road. I just want to hear everyone's opinion and I want to know what is the ultimate off-road vehicle.

those zuk owners are usually a little slow but its alright, there slow on the trails as well so were use to it by now :wink:

I was gonna vote for my rig but you didn't have a spot for it so I am going to go with my 1962 Wheel Horse. it really flexes good it dosnt have a 60inch cut like freebirds Zuk but the 48inch deck gives me a better aproach angle.
Wow the powerhouse votes came in for the Cherokee. Ninja style.

The only reason there are so many votes here for Jeeps is because most wandered over from the Jeep Forum....Most of the Zookers are up in New England or out West where the "Real" Rock Crawling events take place. They are not locals..

I have to agree with Rod about the capabilities of the mighty Zook.

yeah but if i remember correctly the ol mighty xj fell into the lake as well and was able to be pulled out, and no frame damage, ahhhh good ole xj WE LOVE YOU!!! but thats why the xj's are always on the trail and driving home while those little lawn mowers drive on the trail and then die hahahha but its ok rod, we still love you since you drive an xj your always welcome you know that lol lol
we just gotta watch out for those wrangler guys esp the ones who drive like ninja's and take out lights and trees hahahaha

OH boy!
I think that Zuk could not keep up with my XJ 1 or 2 which ever you want. Zuks may have been the thing back in the early 90's But now its longer wheelbases and wider. also those leaf springs are a thing of the past. The zuk is a decent vehicle for what it is. I would much rather a TJ for the short wheelbase vehcle. Plus no birfields.
As far as a the real rock crawlers being in New England and out west. I have not seen a zuk in any event in about 6 years any where.

yeah, but that's all in winching practice. hook 3 winches up to an Xj as stuck as that Zuk and i guarantee something is gonna bend. at least we all have boxed frames. let's see you do a body lift on an XJ in 2 hours. :wink:

hahah well you can keep that thing far away from my xj i love that baby!!
so it seems that either the tj (little storage but goes over rocks nicely b/c of the short wheelbase
or the xj because its got tons of storage and climbs well b/c of the longer wheelbase
as of right now both are tied but we shall see

Yeah, I agree. The XJ Unibody is really weak. I'm a little concerned about twisting up the Unibody. I'm definitely not going to wheel it too hard because it's my DD.. I've been underneath looking it over and it is nothing more than stamped sheetmetal that is dieformed to create a frame. I had the tailgate up while it was parked on a off camber and it wouldn't close properly until it was on level ground again. That is a grave concern to me. Full frame YJ's are definitely the way to go.
Also, I wanted to mount a Plow to it and was warned against it at the Western Plow Dealer. They said the frame will not stand up to plowing without crushing it and cracking it too. Some Plow Dealers don't even offer a rigging for it .

yup yup thats because it definitely is the ultimate wheeling truck hahha but then again it depends on what your wheeling then that determines which truck is the best.

I don't think there is one top truck ( except yj's ) really depends on what your into ... take a xj in a bogg and you can kiss it good bye ... but a 79' chevy flairside with a big block will run circles arount it .... it's all about where you are and what your into .... unless you own a YJ ... then it's all easy ! HAHAHAHA :lol: nonfolding roof bitches .... real men take off the roof to get dirt on the inside too ... lol look at Justins ... came from the factory with mudd on the floor or was that pee in the paint ???????

i will be around for thursday night and friday till early sat. friday evening i have to dj and then after taht im free we should wheel or do a meet and greet or something if you dont mind it being late. i know i gotta get home im just sooooo busy with work and im trying to save for the la kit.

i iknow i will be home the weekend of the 24-25 i know the night of the 24th i have to dj but we can do somehting later that night or on sunday i would love to get a little group together and wheel up at split rock send me ur phone number in a pm i will call ya while im running around one day.
