I am new to the forum and relativly new to the country. I am from Germany and my company sent me over to work here for a while. The Rubicon I bought here is my first Jeep, at home in Germany I had a LR 90 and a Suzuki.
The name GreenRubi is not the color of my Jeep, I live in Green Twp., Sussex County and I hope I will see some of you arround, I have always a cold beer in the fridge.

Thank you for the welcome.
You have to learn English in school in Germany and after a while watching TV, listening to the radio and talking with your co-workers you will learn more every day.
My OME 2" lift will be installed on thursday, so I hope one day my Jeep will be capable to come with you on one on your trips.
@rockdawg
would be nice to see you around.

I'm back from OK Auto in Stewardsville, with my now liftet Rubicon. There is only one small problem, it's only a 2 wd Rubi right now. They had problems to remove the transmission skid plate, the screws were rusted and the bushing in the frame came lose, somehow they nicked the front driveshaft.
In two or three weeks I have to come back to re-install the front driveshaft and the transmission skid.
But don't get me wrong, I still like the shop, great people there and the fact that they were honest about the problem they had is great too.

Thanks again for your welcome, America is not this new any more, I'm here for 1.5 years, so you see it took me a long time to find this forum. Right now I don't know how long I will stay, I hear some rumors, that I have to go to France next year, we will see. To be honest, I don't like France.

I'm not a big Ramstein fan, but I understand them and you are right xeon, Du hasst means you hate.

OK4WD, That sucks that the DS got dinked, are they goign to pay for it or?

Yeah, no problem, they will pay for the driveshaft and they will find a way to install the tranny skid with no costs.
As a said they were honest about everything, they installed the suspension and during the test drive they had vibration, so they pulled the DS to see wats going on. Their mashine shop will fix the problem with the DS.
I have some experience with car shops here and in Europe and I think OK4WD is a really good one. There are a lot of shops out there that would just install the suspension and vibrations are not their problem.

you did a 2 inch OME and had driveline vibrations?

Did you read how it happened? They were installed tranny skid plate I think and some how hit the driveshaft with a tool or something. Which took the driveshaft off balance.

I read it but that must have been some hit to throw a front shaft out of balance. WOW

I have to agree with Joe, that must have been some hit. I have a mark the entire radius of my driveshaft 6inch long on my rear shaft from spinning it on the rock it fell on and have no vibes.

Tom I was thinking that it was something else that they did not tell him. I know I knocked the weight off my front shaft once when the Jeep was street able and I never had a driveline vib.

Reading it from you, it sounds nearly impossible to to hit a driveshaft so hard with the auto tranny skidplate that it will be or cause vibrations.
I don't know what really happened, so I have to believe what they told me. As long as they will fix it, it is probably OK.
It is maybe to do it by yourself, but I think I am not skilled enough to install a suspension.
The Jeep runs fine without the front DS and I hope that it will run fine with the fixed driveshaft.

is it true that on any lift you have to lower the transfer case? maybe thats what was causing vibs.

Not typical for a 2 inch lift.
