front or back? none of the fronts will work the diff is on the wrong side. so if you need a rear I have one for a cherokee $275 complete.

joe i sent ya that pm about that dana 44 get back to me on the gearing and what not. I think were gonna do axles on my truck first and then the suspension no sense doing the suspension then axles i would have to reweld everything and thats not good.
Get back to me on that one, looking to get that 8.25 up for sale soon
Matt
ps you can't get any dana 44 ox lockers can you, there on back order right??
You dont need an ox locker... just get a detroit or something...

actually from 80-91 the wagoneer used driver side drops.
richie, I'd look for one from about 86 and newer to get 44's front and rear and one piece shafts up front. (86 could have either the D44 or the AMC 20 in the rear) it'll also save you from running two different bolt patterns on your wheels.
Jeepin, the scout 44 rear is about 2" narrower than the XJ at 58.5"

Actually the Scout axles are 60.25 that makes them wider than the XJ have 4 of them here at the shop. The waggy fronts are low pinion axles very weak design for front axle. If you want to keep the six lug bolt pattern and want to use the waggy stuff You can take all the outers off and bolt them on to one of my High pinion 44's I build. They are $475 for the housing with Crane 8680 inner "C's" and 3 inch tubes 1/2 inch thick. They are built to spec as far as width pinion angle and caster.

Also do not be afraid of the AMC 20 axle. Once the two piece shafts are replaced with one piece shafts they are a very strong axle. AM General uses the center section for the H-1

well guys i went to harrys u pull it and i got a d 44 rear out of an 89 xj and a front d 44 out of an 84 wagonier there both 60 in wide but the front has a 6 lug bolt pattern and the rear has 5 . so i just got brand new rims for my 5 lug pattern , the axels are not complete . there missing the inner shafts so i planed on getting stronger ones but should i keep the 5 lug pattern or go 6?

It may be cheaper to get 6 lug shafts for the rear axle. Or I can tell you some parts to look for and sell you the rest to make the front 5 lug but it will not be 5x4.5 it would be 5x5.5. You will not be able to make the front 5X4.5 like the rear. So I think that the 6 lug is the best alternative for you. I can have those shafts made for you if you want. Or you can do a wheel spacer / adapter.
I would also run the Dana 30 up front over that waggy axle. That 44 is a low pinion axle and it is a weaker version of a 44 for a frant application. If you already have the high pinion 30 I would keep that and put the 44 in the rear. then your bolt pattern is the same.
