Hi guys...i am an idiot. I got a strange vib after going wheeling in the pines. Changed every fluid with no avail. Latter found out i had mud in my rear drums and it ate away at my shoes. So basically i am posting as a warning to other new wheelers. Taking off and cleaning the rear drums is very important if u want to keep ur shoes. I was lucky..i saved them before to long and i got the drums cut. I f I let them grind any more I would have needed new drums. As it was i needed new shoes. Well, $30 dollars latter i learned my lesson lol.

yep been there done that...usually i manage to run through enough water that it washes out most of the dirt.

you should look into the 8.8 swap for the wrangler...you can get a rear from a mid 90's ford explorer with posi and rear disks for not a whole great amount of money...

im eventually going to go to rear discs on the samurai

Just spray them down. You can hear if you got sand and junk in there even when not pushing on the brake. Just take a hose and spray and you will be set :). I have new drums in mine and I have not had a problem since :).

Usually when you hear weird noises liek that stop and take a look. I didnt have that problem because we were playing in the water all day Sunday and washed it out by the time we left :).

Diffs really dont make noise. If there is a problem you will know... haha because you wont be moving.
