View Full Version : June 19th Sunday run to PAP

Ok guys, so as to keep things a bit more organized I'm adding this thread to be used with the official run poll thread. Those of you who would be up for a run to PAP on the 19th post up here so we can gauge interest. I'm not 100% sure I can make this date yet, but if enough guys want to go I'll make it work on my end. my rig tops out at a blue 2 trail, MAYBE a blue 3 so if you want to run anything higher then we'll need two groups. Oh, and for those of you who know, post up you trail level preference so we can see who wants to do what. So let's hear ya!

This sounds like a good time. I also don't want to take my rig on anything to tuff yet. I am still breaking it in. So I'm in.

05-26-2005, 07:01 PM
well, I just got confirmation that I'm free the 19th so I say we make this run a go. it's a better date for me over the 25th anyway.
sentinal02
05-29-2005, 10:06 PM
hmmm, only 4 rigs? guess everyone wants to go with the big group or doesn't want to go on father's day. Oh well, just means we can cover more trails since we won't be waiting for the back of the line to catch up all the time. right guys! Mythic, you get a chance to look at those brakes today?
Sunday = bad for me, still in school :(

Oh sure, you just had to point that out. I told my wife that it's father's day, not "do what your wife tells you" day!

I know some of you mentioned that it might be a problem for you being it's fathers day. from the sounds of thing we have at least 3 probably 4 definites so we should be good to go regardless, but I don't want to leave anyone behind.

Leaving 2 days after for Memphis so I can even go the next weekend with everyone.
Thinking of exploring the pines this sunday. Is anyone iterested, I have never been there.

ok no offense wrangler i don't mean to get down on you at all or anything.
but you need to slow down your post and take time to think them through and write them out. Just a suggestion but maybe break out microsoft word or something with a spell checker and type your post in there, then make the corrections and then post it into the reply form.
Im not saying this to be mean or anything, its just at times its incredibly hard to understand what you are posting. Just a suggestion, i mean i know im not perfect and ill never admit to it but i like reading what everyone says and would like to read your post just sometimes i have to skip them because i can't read them

Hi Matt,
Thanks for telling me. Your right...my spelling is bad. I just got a new laptop and i am not used to the smaller keyboard. I will try a little harder to at least have proper spelling so you guys can understand me. For those that did not understand my previous post; I am definitely going to pap on the 19th.

YUCK a lap top i hate those freaking things they are the worse to type or do anything on but they are handy.
not to get off topic, but i work for an architecht and he's talking about getting us computers to put architectural desktop on (b/c we currently hand draft) well he's like maybe ill get you guys laptops so you can take them home with you if need me, im like NO THANKS im like i refuse to work on a lap top. You just can't be profficient on a laptop at all, they are to small.
you need to get yourself a desktop and have a ball, haha but i definitely hear where you are coming from about the smaller keyboard
Matt
ps hope you guys have fun at the pines

:offtopic: I got a desktop as well. I just am never home so that is why i use the laptop. Aside from the smaller keyboard its great...i just need to get used to it and type a little slower. I cant get my 40 wpm on the laptop lol.
Ok guys... now start talking about the trip again. lol jk

Ok guys, here's the details:
We're gonna meet at the park at 9 am. I will be on channel 32, or if there is chatter then channel 28 on the CB once I get to the park.
Here's my rig and it will either have the tan top on, or a black bikini with the tan doors.
http://www.tri-state4x4.com/gallery/albums/Ride_4-30-05/paragon_4_30_05_035/normal_3rd%20time%20to%20paragon%204-30-05%20056.jpg
the silver decal on the hood and the Tri-State sticker on the windshield should be a dead give away. For those of you bringing a cell phone, PM me your number so I can contact you the day of the trip if things change.
As far as trails go, I'm thinking we'll take valley road in (2wd), to Doe Run (G3) Then Logging Road (G2) to Rock swamp (B1 which has a go around for anyone who doesn't want to try it) then run the pipeline back to either Haul rd (2wd) and run some of the shorter inner trails like 40, 41, 39 and 36 or we can hit GB&U (G3) and run turtle up (B1) to get out of the park, depending on how we look for time. With a small group like this we should be able to cover a good amount of ground but we'll see how things go. If anyone else has some suggestions for what to run, or wants to hit a certain trail, let me know.

just thought i'd let eveyone else know that I heard from mobile and he won't be able to make this run, so it's going to be just the 4 or 5 of us depending on if Joe is coming. also, just in case anyone is wondering, I have most of the recovery gear we might need. 2 20' and 1 10' straps, hi-lift and a 4 ton come-along and am locked up front. haven't had to use the come-along yet though. doubt we'll need it though unless we start playing around in the mud. anyone have any D-rings? I have one, but a few more wouldn't hurt if we need a longer strap.

I'll likely be there til about 5. depends on where we end up on the trails on how we look for time. If you guys think 9 is too late then we can meet earlier. I was planning on being there by 8:30 and aired down, registered, and ready to go at 9.

sway bars? discos? what are those? and i ride 18 psi on the street anyway with the off road tires. lol. alas, no OBA for me yet. got the york sitting on the bench waiting, but won't have the time or funds to get it in for this run. definitely by the next run though. thought about just throwing it in there and running it without all the other goodies, but i'd still have to get a double belt pulley for the alt and I doubt that would be here in time anyway so why rush and screw things up. 6 more days.

Update: heard from Joe and he won't be able to make it due to dad's day. make a note Justin, don't schedule runs for holidays unless you don't want a huge group. lol. no problem though, we've got three definite rigs, that's all we need. OIIIIIIIO you still in? gonna hit your dad over the head and drag him off roading so you can come? anyway, Mythic and I are gonna be coming down together and should be at the park around 8:15 or so. don't forget the cameras guys.
