When are we going to go for a Sunday wheel?

I kept tabs over here since the beginning. I don't post much, but was really looking forward to some wheelin get togethers with some locals. Unfortunately all the trips have been Saturdays. I work on Saturdays, and it's hard to get a day off, if anyone wants to organize something let me know. There's got to be others that would prefer a Sunday ride.

Yes there are others. But the majority like Saturdays because it gives them time to fix things that might have broken and time to get some sleep :) on the Sunday after. But yes we will start putting together some Sunday runs and hope that I can get there.

If its goign to be an offical TS trip I would organize it. I have no problem putting it together. Just if I am able to go. I have school the next day. But in the summer we can have Sunday trips no problem. Until the end of August ... thats when school starts... :(. Anyway we will have soem planned soon. Maybe next month we will have one mid month ish. Hit up Raush Creek or something.

wrangler-I might be up for that. I really wanted to do the OK4WD outing, but it's a Sat-Sun trip, they're charging $150, and giving away all the prizes on Saturday. I would have lovedshowing up for a cruise in the Catskills though.

I work alot of saturdays also and would also like some Sunday rides. Id like to know how many other people have odd day work hours also. Since I don't always work the same days every week. I would like to find people to wheel with during the week.

Paragon requires groups of 3 or more so that is the only reason I can't go during the week.

I also work most Saturdays. Sunday is the day of choice for me too.

Seems like something is always broken.. aargh

Last couple of weeks I've had a run of bad luck and can't seem to catch up no how..Seems like everything is broken right now..

We are wheelin next weekend in the Barrens. See our post on that subject...

I can understand how things seem to always get broken. I had three days to install this supercharger on my jeep and I keep running into delays. One more day to go.

I would have loved to wheel next weekend but I may have to work and if not I work Saturday night 6pm to 6am sunday. I have gone after work before but I am dead halfway through the day.

i too work odd ball days during the week. mon, tues some weeks, wed fri others, tues thurs, fri still others, etc. something different every week. the good thing is i always have sat and sun off. looking at picking up a second job though so that might change, but for now I'm up for mid week wheeling or sunday rides. long as i can get the rig and myself home, i can always carpool to work on monday so it's not as critical that i don't break something. not that i try to of course. :lol:

I noticed something happening here..... Most people that have posted here about wheelin' on Sundays are from the same general area. Southern NY area. Or thereabouts.. Maybe we should set something up near this way soon instead of going south or west...

working on it. i'm thinking next weekend I'm gonna go check out a few of the roads out in catskill park I mentioned a while back. was gonna do it this weekend but my parents wanted help laying a sidewalk. doubt i'll find anything worth mentioning though. still, can't hurt to look and it's a nice scenic area.

from you, i would probably take 84 to newburg and run 87N up to either kingston and pick up 28, or new paltz and run 44/55 up over the ridge and in to grahamsville that way. about 60-70 miles from you for the first trail i'm gonna check out. you could pick up 32 just after the bridge and come in that way for less miles, but it's all little towns and lights where as the thruway is all 65.

we're looking at fire roads here for the most part, not trails. i doubt we'll find anything 2wd couldn't handle. the actual trails in the park are meant for ATVs snowmobiles and hiking, what we're looking for here are roads that have this sign posted on them:

as you can see it's not exactly hardcore wheeling. i'm not planning on taking my street tires off. lol

I know of a few that are a little more fun, but they're small. I'm hoping to find one that the park has forgotten about but that remains to be seen. Basically this is a scouting mission to find some of the better roads out there that we can run around on when we put a real meet and greet together, so i'd like to keep the group small, 3 or 4 rigs at the most. gonna be a lot of on road driving between trails unless we find a long one. let me know!
