Does the rubican springs come with center pin spacers? Cause it seems to be bottoming out on my axle. If so how do you remove them? Thanx

you could remove them, you would have to take some c clamps and clamp the leaf pack together first before you try to remove the pins

Well I don't want to remove the pins.. just the extensions if there is any.. I can't tell... In R.E. 's directions they say the pins may come with extensions installed for using with shims. But remove the extensions if the pins are bottoming out on the axle tube, which they are.
It seems that the hole in the perch is deep enough for the pin which is about a half inch long. But it only clicks in a little bit and the rest won't go in no matter how much I move the axle or spring. I put pressure on the spring, bolted the plates up and it still won't go in.
How much of the pin really needs to be recessed?

any XJ that is lifted over 3.5 usualy needs a shim. Did you check to see if the pin fits in the hole? Sometimes you need to reem out the hole.

Ok, seems like my day to post never have before.
RE spring center pins are a bit larger in dia. than the perch hole. I had to use a dremel to bore the hole a little bit bigger than it was. Then the center pin fit fine.
NOW FYI: make sure it is large enough to get the dam thing out. Mine was so tight that I had to cut them off. When I swapped to a Dana 44. So a 9/16 drill bit should work just fine.

I think you can clamp the individual spring pack and then unbolt the center pin. Take out the spacer and then bolt the center pin back in. Are you sure you didn't need to use shims?
Also, be careful about re-using u-bolts. They're meant to stretch a little at final tightening. Torque to yeild. They don't stretch back when you loosen them. Usually you get one shot with u-bolts. I had a problem last year when the threads on one of my rear u-bolts stripped off and the axle separated from the leaf spring. Which is what this blurry picture tries to show: http://home.earthlink.net/~torkpics/paragon10-17-04/21.jpg
It happened here:

My left rear tire doesn't usually go that far into the wheelwell.
