Hi,

My grand father thinks that a diesel liberty's engion would fit in a wrangler with a little modification. Of cource I would have to buy some adapters to make it work. My dad makes Bio-diesel out of used vegetable so i would love to drive a diesel because I could get free fuel. Eventualy, if i'm gona keep my wrangler, I will need a new engion anyway. I have no rust anyware and most of the sorounding parts have been replaced. It probaly would be worth keeping. Do you think it would be worth it to go diesel? Has anyone done a convertion like this in the past? If i were to do it I would have to get a nearly new engion from a wrecked liberty. I dont have the money now...but do you think it could be done? Also,
How would a diesel engion run off-road? Would it be harder to off road? I'm guessing i would also need a new trany because diesels idle lower. (right?)

Thanks,
Cody

Its been done before. But the draw back to deisel is the weight and the tranny and parts you might have to make yourself. You need the motor and tranny then you haev to see if your t-case which should be the np231 will bolt up. I think the deisel trannys are longer and that will make you driveshaft shorter then it alreday is. But the pluses are well free fuel, gas milage will be great, tons of torque.
