Dates to choose from:

May 21
May 28

We will be going to Paragon adventure park again. I think we will go there a few more times then go to Raush Creek when the weather is real nice. Lets start planning this so we can get a set date and people can plan ahead and take off work if they work Sat. :D

Memorial weekend I will voulentering my time with helping a local cause, so that is out. As for the 21st, I was thinking of going to the OK4wd event, only because it is closer to home. Hoping to learn a local trail so I can wheel close to home when ever I am in the mood.

If I don't end up going to their event, you can count me in.

Looks like 21st. Keep voting so we can get a big percentage to go. Then I will make it offical and get it posted so people can make plans. Friday the most votes is teh date. I want to have atleast a 2 week period of time for people to plan ahead. Then we will organize the groups. This time please listen to me when I tell you were to go. We had 12 people and it was ok but it was too much. I would liek to keep it 8 max. We will have some catagories like stock mild lift and experienced hardcore or something.

Hello everyone,

Im brand new to this forum, brand new to Jeep, and brand new to wheelin! Im what you might call a hardcore newbie :D

Anyhow, came across this club and just had to join! I recently purchased a 2005 Unlimited and would absolutely love to get it all muddy at your May ride. Will there be a group taking easy trails again for guys like me just starting out? Will my stock Jeep be sufficient? I would love to join you all on your next ride but dont want to be "dead weight" if stock isnt good enough.

Looks like a great group you have here and I look forward to hopefully meeting some of you this May, whichever date it is. All I need is a CB, think I can manage that!

OK OK, I know I voted for the 21st, but my wife just informed me that we have a prior engagement. So I need to change my vote to the 28th. I know it won't matter much, but I really want to go wheeling again!

I'm new as well. I have a stock wrangler. I'm sure you will be ok riding stock! I just went to the april ride and my stock was fine. Just get the cb and i look foward to seeing you in may.

As for Raush Creek in a few months...Raush Creek is like 4hours+ from were i live so I would prefer the paragon. If you plan one to Raush Creek thats fine, but count me out. How about an overnight trip to the pines. I know someone was sudjesting it before.

I would be interested in even an unofficial trip to the pines. I would like to go down there an explore some of the old towns I keep hearing about.

thats cool man. i give you lots of credit to wanting to take a stock brand new ride out and test its limits.

a CB is one of the best things you can have on the trail. that way you can chatter back and forth as you go over stuff. it works nice. since i got defaulted as trail leader i would go through stuff and it it was a little more technical then the rest of the trail i could holler back and let everyone know.

i am making it to the may ride one way or another. your welcome to ride with our group! just look for the big blue tiger striped samurai (prolly the only samurai there unless badzook gets off his lazy duff and gets his fixed ;) sorry man had to poke!)

Thanks Freebird, and all! Yeah well ya know something? You could bubble wrap your ride and your still gonna get dings/scratches/dents and all that. I figure I may as well get the scratches the fun way! Anyway, Ive had new vehicles before and always pampered the heck out of em, this one I bought for FUN! No fun to own a Jeep if im going to worry it to death. Im not going to TRY to customize it on the trail, but if a little damage happens...oh well.

Probably true that the 2nd happiest day of your life is when you buy your Jeep, The first happiest day is when you get your first scratch or dent...then you dont worry about it so much!

Anyway, thanks again for the welcome. Ill be sure to make a donation before the ride! A group like this deserves it. :wtg:

don't think i'll be making this month's run. both weekends are bad for me. looks like i'll just have to wait for june.

Rockwell, we had several stockers on this last run and they all did very well. even had one with under 500 miles on it. you'll be amazed at what you can drive over in a stock jeep.

Rockwell.

Don't worry about the new Jeep. It was my first time out with the members of this forum (Paragon); and every one was great. Seemed to be more worried about scratching/damage it then I was.

Great group of guys, you will not be disappointed going out with them on the May ride. Thanks again to everyone at Paragon that weekend, the trails were great but the company was better.

By the Rockwell, 2005 Unlimited Rubicon , temp plates and broke 500 1/3 of the way home. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO BE WORRIED ABOUT!

LOL...NO....NO MUDFLAPS. In fact, the first thing I did was take off those plastic "pontoon" things they have in the front and rear bumper ends. Looked like big plastic teeth to me!

I would not pay the money for the PINES...considering the guys from this forum go there all the time. I would be better to get a club event there instead.

Flippy71,
OK4wd is having an event in the Catskills, it is cheapeir and is a Jeep Jamborees trail. I am thinking of attending it. My reason for attending it simple: It will be a place this group will not wheel as often as the Pines or Paragon.

anyone going to that event?

Flendo

maybe you should make this meet for the 28th zeon....too many people cant make the 21st.....and right now they are having a HUGE paintball thing at my job on the 21st......i think we would have a better turnout if we pushed it for the last weekend of the month like you had said in a post a month or so back......plus its memorial day weekend so we can tailgate on the 28th and make it a BBQ.....what do you think?

mybigredjeep

But look at the votes... 12 vs 3... I dont want to have another trip where no one shows. Those are no fun. Plus the Pines on the 28th is turning into a camping trip. I am goign by the votes. And if I have to reset them thats not a problem.

So when will be the "official" date?

I have been trying to get w/ some fellow NJ Jeepers.
I am in South NJ. Not far from "the Pines". Though I have not been there in years. But was always "soupy" so if that is what you are into.

But hell I would just like to meet some Jeep guys from my area. I need to get out of my office this year! :D

I heard someone on here mention a big "paintball" event at their work. I am curious as to where they work. A friend of mine whom I went to school IS paintball and has some big warehouses in NJ near me (and other places).

Anyway...

The pines trip on the 14th has i think 3 rigs going. i was out there today. it was a great day, good mud and water crossings, lets get more people. i have been there a few times but ma by far no expert on the area, has anyone else spent any amount of time out there? if not i know of a couple good mud spots and water runs. after that it will be alot of exploring.

Flippy make a new thread about your pines trip please. This is discussion about Tri-State 4x4 trip.

This trip is going to be the 21st. Tomarrow I will make it offical. If there are any large issues with the offical trip being the 21st. Please post here by tomarrow. If not mark your calender and tell your boss you are taking off because you are sick :).
