How are those tires? I am looking into some 31"s.

the thornbirds are ok. Not the greatest tire out there, but I've got no regrets buying them used. paid about 150 for all 4, though one of them is half bald from the guy running them with bad ball joints. That said, I got what i paid for. They look great and they performed much better than the cooper AT's I had the first time i went to paragon. I had trouble climbing dry hills in those things. Didn't get stuck once with these on there and we were going through som slick stuff with all the rain were were having this past summer. Didn't see too much rock though so I can't comment on that or the hardcore mud. I just siped and grooved them myself, and the wet traction improved and is pretty good for a 10 inch tire. This snow storm we just had made for some slick driving and I want to get something narrower for winter, but in the virgin snow they performed great. Just didn't like the slush and it was more the back wanting to slide a bit more than anything else. That's normal even when i had the AT's on there from the lack of weight in the rear, so I can't complain for 150 when i needed something different. No matter what you get though, I'd sipe them and possibly grove them depending on the tread pattern. It made a world of difference on these. HTH
