Becasue the Delaware Water Gap is not in Delaware. It is in NE PA, probably at least 100 miles from the state of Delaware.

If you want a neat view of it, go to Big Pocono State Park. (It's the same mountain that Camelback ski resort is on.) On a nice day, you can clearly see where the gap is.

I feel bad every time I tell someone I went to Delaware Valley College then have to explain that the Delaware Valley is infact in PA not Delaware, after a while, when people asked hows Delaware I just answered fine. I really didn't want to explain it anymore.
