Hi guys,
H was wondering if anyone wanted to go on an unofficial trip to the Pine Barrens. I have heard that the terrain is not that challenging, but for anyone that lives in NJ it is a lot closer then Paragon. I also wanted to give my jeep (and my self lol) a little off-road experience before the harder stuff at Paragon. If anyone that has been to the pines before would like to show some of us noobies around, it might be a lot of fun. Post what you guys think. I was thinking maybe we could go on the 23? It’s the Saturday before the official trip at Paragon. Maybe we could meet some ware and drive down as a convoy? Is anyone interested? If we go, we need at least one person that has been there before to show us around. (Unless detailed maps are available…I have not been to the pines in a while.) If we could get like 3 or more vehicles to go it might be fun.

-Cody :D

P.S. I have never been on an off-roading trip much less planed one…so if I am totally out of line here just tell me.

You will be fine if you have not been offroading before at Paragon. Most the trails we will be taking or I will be taking are going to be pretty easy.

Hi,
i just thought it might be another fun tip to go on that would not be so expensive for us new jerseyans. I dont beleve it cost anything to go t the pines like paragon, so for people that want to wheel more then once in a month, I thought this might be a cheap idea. I also have had a few things brake on my jeep latly and i'd rather go wheeling for the first time an hour away insted of 3 incase anything goes wrong. But if you guys dont want to go..thats fine...just figgured i'd put the idea out there.

I would go but I need that weekend to fix up some things. I need to pull my t-case apart and if I mess up I need a day to fix it so I can get to school in the morning :). I would go but I have heard its all sand and swamp out there...

I'd be down. I don't know the area though. I can't make the April ride so I need to do some wheeling.

Cody,
I posted a thread about this a week or two ago and there was some discussion about it..
I do know some about the Pines and I also know that Right Now since we've had a lot of rain it's really wet down there..Those water holes are going to be very deep..... If you do go there make sure you've waterproofed your rig real good and bring some recovery eqiupment..

Definitely go with at least three other rigs.. You may need their help to pull you out..

Good luck and keep us posted.

I was going to go this Saturday but am having problems with my rig right now...

i think it would be a good idea for some of us to goto the pine barrens. been itchin to let the sand, dirt, or mudd fly. i have been there a few times i wouldnt say i know it real well, but enough too get us lost:-]
