Ok well now I'm trying to decide on wheels and tires.
I know I want a 33" x 12.5 on 15 x 8 wheels.
I was trying to decide between the M/T Classic 2 cast alluminum wheels for $95....or
Cragar 316 chrome spoke steel wheels for $53.
I wasn't sure whether to get steel or cast alluminum. I don't want lots of rust or much added weight.. which steel will have. Not sure how much more weight or rust. But I didn't want to spend a fortune on wheels either and since in time I may buy a fifth wheel for a spare.
And tire I was looking at the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R and the BFG All Terain. I chose the All Terrain as opposed to the Mud Terrain because the the A/T scored higher or the same in all catagories except mud traction.
I'm just looking for some input on either of these wheels and tires or other ones that fit into what I'm looking for on a DD.
Thanks

I had a set of BFG all terrains and loved them. They performed awsome on and off road and lasted forever. I'll be buying another set this week. I don't have any experience with the MTR's but thats first hand experience with the BFG's.

Yah I have BFG's A/T 30" tires now.. I just didn't know if I should stick with these or get something else.
Might want to look at TRUX MTs. I know a few people with those and they are awesome. I am getting them myself in May used from njdexj. I heard good things about the BFG MTs might want to look into those too. Hope this helps out!

I've got Cragar Soft 8 15x8's on my XJ. Quadratec has them for 29.95 a piece.

Any rust issues with Cragar wheels? I know they are steel but is it pretty noticeable?
I own a YJ and I hate rust.. Wow I got a problem.

time to move south with that kind of problem  I've got the black cragars on mine as well and they weathered this past winter nicely. the only thing that did rust were the chrome center caps i got with them. i'm not sure how much of that rust will come off, but i'm probably going to find out tomorrow. nice day, time on my hands, time to switch tops and give the jeep a bath! :D the nice thing about the steelies though is you can just touch them up with new paint if they get scraped up. once you scratch chrome you're all done.

He's had them on for six months and no rust except for the crappy center caps you have to buy seperate.

I would recomend the BFG ATs had them on several toy pickups and now on my TJ (33x10.5) and other than mud I have had no problems. I am also running Cragar soft 8s(for a year now) and no rust issues with them.

I would suggest you decide what you are going to do with the vehicle before you decide what tires to get. If you are doing mostly road driveing with a little bit of light wheeling then go for the a/t bfg's. but if you plan on doing a good amount of wheeling with it I would go with the BFG mud terrain or MTR. they will both give you great road driving and excellent off road control. If all you are going to do is wheel then you may want to look at the truxus tires But I would not recomend them for road driveing. Especially cause this sounds like your daily driver.

i would have to say that my trxus mt's have not given me any problems on road at all..i drive 80 miles a day for work..they seem to be wearing well..no problems in the rain, snow...and off road they are great...

I've had my cragar 8's since october, the only rust is where my rims met some rocks and took some paint off, this is getting touched up soon. My center caps got a little bit of wax as did the rims when they went on so they still look brand new. I would stay away from chromed steel wheels because they go to crap a little faster than they should IMO.
And as rockreadyxj said decide what your gonna be doing with ur rig before u make a tire choice.

Yah the Crager 326's are chrome steel.
So I guess I will go with the MT classic 2... a bit more $$.
Probably AT's cause its a big DD.
