I am just posting this just incase no one can attend the April ride. I am planning it to be the 30th of Arpil since thats the last Sat. of April.

If you have any suggestions or problems with this let me know. Right now we will be going to Paragon and hopefully there will be no snow and ice :D. That means the park will be totally different thats for sure and maybe we can get our rigs real dirty.

If theres a group running blacks I will be there.

The mud pits will be deep from all the metloff. You can splash in the puddles all you want and I'll stand back and take pictures. I hate mud :eew:

I will not be able to attend that weekend. Any other weekend will work in April. I should have a few inches of lift and 31's on the XJ by then too.

admission to PAP is 35 for the driver, 5 for passengers (though i think it only for 16 and up). check out www.paragonap.com for the full details and make sure your jeep meets requirements.

beat me to it X

what size are your tires and what size is your spare? as far as the hitch goes, you can get a shackle to fit into the receiver and use that as your tow point. tow hooks can be had for the front of the jeep for under $25 as well and are easily installed. check out a tractor supply store if you have one near you, or look through quadratec.com or 4wd.com, both should have what you need.

spare size i'll get to tomorow...but I know its a dounut. As for shakle in hitch...there is no reciver, the ball is mounted on a bracket off the bumper. couldent you just tow from the bumper if i were to get stuck? Would these hooks satisfy the requierment? http://www.quadratec.com/cgi-bin/sgin0101.exe?T1=12107+02&UREQA=1&UREQB=2&UREQC=3&U REQD=4&FNM=00&UID=2005032822053260
They are also for a TJ, I got a YJ, would it still work...does any one know were I could get these cheaper? Thanks for all your help, I really hope I can go!

Thanks,
Cody

April 30th is my 18th birthday haha so i hope im gonna be able to go. Just a quick question though, My MT's on my xj are 30" x 9.5" and my spare is the stock 225 i believe. Does this count as a full size spare?? The size difference is really not that much, maybe an inch in diameter.

Happy b-day in advanced! Yes that does count as a full size spare. I had a 225 and my tires were alittle smaller then 30" and they let me in the park. As long as its not one of those honda dounut tires... :D

the TJ hooks and the YJ hooks differ because of the bolt pattern on the front frame where the hooks install. this is what you want:

quadratec (http://www.quadratec.com/cgi-bin/sgin0101.exe?T1=12007+02&UREQA=1&UREQB=2&UREQC=3&U REQD=4&FNM=00&UID=2005032822053260)

those should bolt into place (and are cheaper too, though you will need to buy two. well not really if you don't mind only one hook, but two is better) the rear ball won't work as far as i know. too easy for the strap to slip off the ball. if you had to get pulled from the rear it would be better to wrap the strap around the bumper than put it on the ball. as for the tires, as long as your road tires are around a 235/75, then i can lend you one of my street tires for the ride. they're pretty worn out, but the park just wants you to have something on hand within an inch or two of your main tires that you can use to get off the trails. after that you can run the donut as far as you need to.

I am pretty sure factory tj tow hooks are only rated at 5000 lbs or less. They are not ment for off road recovery just for free wheel pulling. Go to advanced or even pep boys and get the tow hooks there. They are rated at 10000lbs and are like $20. Better safe then sorry.

Also if you want to meet up to drive down there. We usually meet at the Hibernia Dinner early in the morning. Last time we had over 6 rigs driving down 80. Each car passing got more wowed as they passed. It was funny to watch there faces. Of course we were watchign the road too... :)

I can get a Saturday off but it would have to be at the beginning of the month. I'll be itchin to get out soon too, cuz my tires came today, and the lift should be here by the end of the week. If anyone is ever up for a Sunday trip let me know.

Is anyone going to camp Jeep?

Its right off RT80 the hibernia exit. I dont remember the number but it drops you right onto the road the dinner is on. Its right next to a exxon. The dinner is listed under food signs on 80 so its kinda easy to find. Its like exit 20's something. Maybe I dont know someone let him know for sure :D.
