It seems a little bit crazy to expect people to sign up for something that has no date nor a place. A difference in as little as an hour of driving distance can make or brake a person to decide not to go.

Thats just my two cents.

as i stated above im looking for tenetive numbers..im not looking for anyone to commit to anything at this point for that exact reason.

there has to be interest there to go out and contact places for a potential place to stay....

it makes dealing with campgrounds much easier when you can tell them.."im so and so from such and such group and im looking to hold an event...im looking at roughly xx amount of people....etc."

rather then..."im so and so from such and such group and im looking to hold an event...i have no idea how many people are comming but i would like to set something up anyway..."

the dates we are looking at in the other thread is end of may beginning of june. i wont know exact dates until a place is contacted. with a small semi unorganized group such as this you tend to have to work around the campground schedules rather then work around us. Campgrounds usually have their own activities which could hinder a gathering on a any given weekend. but in order to call campgrounds you need a rough number of how many your expecting to attend.

If an hour of driving is going to make or break you from comming thats just the way the cookie crumbles. Other factors have to be considered when choosing a place for something like this. Central locale is a big one, but facilities is another. you dont want to go to some place where all the restrooms and bath houses are nasty and the sites are unlevel.

I personally drive a little over an hour to go to paragon to wheel. Rausch creek would be even further and I still would like to explore that place. I have also gone to Attica,Indiana tot he bad lands and i hope to make it to North Carolina to Uwharrie National Forrest for a different suzuki gathering.

An extra hour to a campground to have a weekend of good food, possibly some parts swaping, maybe a small show and shine show....and who knows, maybe other stuff is a small price to pay to have a good time.

thats why the questions are being posted. got to generate the interest before you just go and blow a bunch of money on a whim. It would suck to have to shell out cash for a pig, charcoal, other food, drinks, anything else and have 3 people show up cause the idea wasnt openly discussed among the group.

The whole 4 wheeling enviroment has spawned around real people just out to have a good time. It is pretty much a family enviroment. The thought behind this is why not have a get together that doesnt have to revolve around exclusively trail riding and wheeling. That seems to be the consensus i recieved in the other thread. Not everyone may want to bring their family to paragon and bounced around the trails all day. This will give a chance to bring the family into the equation. think about it. if the wife/girlfriend knows the group, she may be a little more open to you spending money on your rig or on admission fees to paragon(this alone is expensive after awhile).

So... Is it crazy to ask the opinnion of the group about all this before running out and doing something? I didn't think so...

I know the locale im looking at is a bit further north but its the difference in a half a tank of gas even in the worst of vehicles...and @ $22-24/night for a site that has electric and water and good facilities. Its well worth the extra distance.

I just got prices for a campground for Carlisle all truck nationals and they want $27/night for a site with 3/4 less trees and no water or electric...

Your doing all that typing, but all I think anyone hears is blah blah blah blah

wah! "I need to call all over the place and get prices." WHY are you doing that? How about we set the period of time for example: a 1 day or a weekend event w/ or w/o wheeling. Then, pick a place then pick a date. Your bouncing all over the place and you don't even know how many people are going. Planning an event for 10 people WILL be different than planning an event for 50 people. And trying to plan an event w/out even knowing the date is impossible!! People have lives, and full time jobs. Obviouslly you have NEVER planned for anything before.

If you feel you can do a better job by all means have at it. I really dont see anyone else stepping up to the plate here. So until that happens please keep the personal attacks to yourself.

on the same note...your right about planning an event for 10 people is different from 50. But before you can even start to plan ANYTHING you need to know a tenetive head count. If you havent realized by now noone has commited to anything. When you have a small group (under 50 people) and thats whats looking to be, not not only have to work around the group schedule but you also have to work around the schedule of where you decide to hold your "event" so that means dates can change. so why post a date when its subject to change anyway? Sam with location? seems kinda stupid to me.

Its obvious that you have not went into any of the other forums and read the other posts. (this is clear with only 2 posts under your belt on this forum). There is a poll in the "outing discussion" forum that was setup for everybody to decide what type of event they even want. the scope of this idea has changed totally from original inception.

Either way, I have not recieved any complaints from badzook, xeon, or any of the other members. If you are not happy with how this is being handled go right ahead and PM either one of those guys since they started this group or pick up the torch and you handle the arrangements yourself.

I do not mind constructive criticism or other ideas, but do not come on here and start throwing out personal attacks just because someone isnt doing something the way you feel it should be done.

Dude you are so unorganized. You were probably to busy typing to read what I wrote. I was suggesting you do things in a organized manner. You are doing things as$ backwards. Did you buy your lift before you got the truck?? Thats what your doing with our BBQ. I have not posted for a while because I have been watching for a while but when I saw your stupidity I had to post. I have a wife and two kids I think the weekend of meeting people is not a good idea. If you don't what a wheeling thing I would say that One day is enough Unless you want to watch my kids!

Yo DUDE,

Listen this is all voluntary here. We are not making you come to this. You were invited to this event. Freebird has put lots of time into this. Him and I have been talking about it for like a month. I think you should really keep your attitude to yourself. We are trying to find a place basically first and then what we want to do. See the problem is that there are many different combinations of things we can do. I personally would not mind just camping and hanging out with some offroading guys. Most of us are really good people and I enjoy talking to everyone. Every wheeling event we have I never get home when I tell my parents because I am talking to everyone else. Its a great time. We are working on this together and anyhting positive is welcome to comment on.

Back to school....
By the way xjchris this was a freindly reminder. We dont not need people with bad atitudes on our group. Right now we have been lucky to have so many great people. Do not ruin it for everyone and make people feel bad for there hard work. We do NOT flame here, please read all terms and conditons under the proper forum.

Thank you,

I turn on my puter and something like this comes up...

xjchris

why don't you do what you have been doing and sit back and listen..... We're trying to narrow down the possibilites here.... You've done NOTHING towards this event but shoot off your mouth..

We're just discussing this right now

"Chill out Man"....

If you have something CONSTRUCTIVE to say please join in, otherwise BUTT out!!!

xjchris

This is your first and last warning...

If this keeps up we will take this discussion over to the "Members Only Area" and make sure that "only members" in our group are listed to join in on that conversation then you'll have nothing to whine about....

Freebird01

Thanks for your dedication and patience with the others on this forum.. Please continue with your efforts and if we can help out just let us know.. I see your point about narrowing down the date.. I don't have any better ideas right now either..
