Well it's time to put my jeep up for sale. I've decided to start from the begining with a new vehicle. I've learned alot from building and wheeling my rig and want to start over and build everything exactly how I want it. I don't know what jeep I'm going to use yet but it will be a jeep. It's going to be a trail rig only so I have many more options on my build up. Looks like I'm going to miss a couple of rides. It should be worth it though. How about some suggestions on what jeep to use with some unique reasons why. Late 80's to mid 90's jeep wrangler or cherokee. Or a jeepster comando.
Comanche :) The MJ is sweet :) I want to build one up. But I want to get my YJ built up first :)
How about a CJ-7 they are alittle easier to find then a comando...
Maybe a military Jeep if yuo can find one. They look wicked cool jacked up and stuff.
How much for your YJ?

I thought I would never sell it either but I want to build a trail only jeep. I though about just using mine but it would be easier to just start fresh. I'm trying to get a YJ thats at my buddy's shop with a blown motor. If I go that route than they also have a 1 ton suburban in the yard too. Stretch the wheel base and gear the hell out of it. You get the idea.

early YJ's are probably the best project jeep out there based on price. the later YJ's with the MPI engines are in demand and TJ's are expensive (not to mention coil springs are more work to mod) and a CJ with a decent frame is hard to come by around here, though i'd love to get my hands on one. the down side to the 87-90 YJ's is the weak drive train you get in stock form, though considering your mods to the old jeep, i doubt you're planning on keeping much of that. flat fender it, do some cutting in the back and run 38's with an SOA and 2" springs. :D

Yeah I'm leaning towards the YJ. The only thing I would use is the tub and frame. Everything else goes.
