Hi. I am new to this site. I am sure most of know about area 909 up in dutchess county. IT's a nice 30-45 ride. I'd call it a medium logging trail. Can be done with a stock jeep or blazer. No matter how sloppy it was, I never used my winch there. I am sure you guys also know about the "rough roads" in the berkshires like october mtn and savoy forest. Also in that general area, there are one or two legal places in Rennselear county. (40 min NW of albany, NY). If anyone wants more details just email me.

I am looking for some legal catskill trails. I notice some pics here of a 12/12/04 trip to the catskills. The trailhead sign post looks like a DEC area. I am over in columbia county and work in NYC area. Might be moving to the howe's cavern area soon though. I have a ZR2 with 2 inches extra lift, 32" bfg MTR's, and rock gaurds. I am not afraid of pushing this rig or getting it stuck.

I know 909 is ok for bikes, hikes and such butg is it legal for 4x4's? I'm new to wheeling for the most part and work in Dutchess. I used to party at 909 as a kid....lol.

Yes it is legal. However, there are spots that are not legal. Please be considerate of hunters and the no motorized vehicles signs. It is closed from dec 15th till april as per DEC. Hunter go in there from dawn till late morning and mid afternoon till dark this time of year.
