As I have been working on my frankenstein lift, I've come to the realization that my current shocks are pretty ugly. I've had them for nearly four years and although the rode well with the 3" lift, I don't know how they are going to run now that I am up to a 6" lift.
regardless, what shocks do people suggest and at what cost? I'm trying to stay within a low budget on this build.

Unless it's a Bilstein or an expensive race rebuildable (Fox, King, Sway-A-Way, ect), it's a Teneco shock. All the lift kit companies use the same gas charged shock and just put their label and color bushings in it. I had Bilstein 5100's that worked well, just make sure they are bumped properly or the bottom caps will leak. I think they were around $70 ea but that was 6 or 7 years ago and I have horrible memory.
The travel length and the mounting in regards to bump/droop travel will have more of an impact on the Jeep's performance than whomever's sticker is on it or where you bought it.
