Unfortunately this looks like the begining of the end. It appears as if Trout Unlimited and all the kayak hippies in Asheville got their way. I'm glad I've gotten to spend some time down there with my Jeep over the years. Looks like I'll be going to Harlan this summer instead.

We let them have their fun, why can't they let us have ours? I hate tree huggers.

get use to it. I believe in the next 5-10 years your going to see half of the trails that are currently established disappear. I would not doubt that in 15 years almost all public trails like moab and tellico will be shut down and just be a distant memory in our brains.

The sad thing about all of this is what they are trying to do to "protect" the enviornment is they are actually going to harm it in the long run. I doubt this sport will ever die out. With that people will still go wheeling and without any legal wheeling around people are going to end up riding illegally. When you have so many people riding illegally b/c theres no where else to go, is when your going to get torn up land. So instead of us being located in certain areas and then people taking care of trails its just going to be a free for all.

It will be a very sad day for the east coast if tellico gets shut down completely.
