Where do I start???

Got my 1st wrangler. Really want to take it off road.. where do I start? I live in Brooklyn, NY, if anyone know of any trails around here, let me know. I'm willing to go to up to 120 miles to try some trails. I just want a trail that would be considered good for a beginner. thanks!!!!

Well theres not too much for us new York guys but you could start out with getting a beach permit and getting a feel for your truck next would be Rausch Creek nice place lots of rocks


before you go out there your first time make sure you have some straps a good jack and tools to at least change a tire

I would get ahold of either/both Long Island Off Road and Hudson Valley 4 Wheelers.
They can be accessed through the East Coast 4WD Association site:

They are part of EC4WDA and the Northeast Region D of EC4WDA and as such, have access to several thousand acres of private lands throughout New England. By joining either of those clubs (or any other EC4WDA Region D club for that matter) you also gain access to all the other clubs' rides (space permitting) In essence, for a measly 40-50 dollar a year dues, one could be wheeling almost every weekend. There are all sorts of other bennies too that go along with being a dues paying member.

You could start at the end of October with us at Rausch Creek. Some good time camping and wheeling with people who will help you learn the ropes!
