View Full Version : Tri-State 4x4 outings?
The site has been slow. May be due to my lack of activity and effort.
Want to know what you guys are thinking. Do we want to put forth effort into monthly rides?
Need some ideas and help.
PS: Hopefully the finish of my YJ will help get more people together more often. I know a bunch of us are deep in projects.

Well, James and I are almost always up for rides. The only problem is we can really only do Sundays because of my job, so it's hard to get people together for that.
That being said, I'm up for a Tri-State run at RC for May 27th. I have a pretty good idea of the trails there so I could help navigate.:bdance:

I think the biggest thing is the closing of paragon that and projects. As soon as the xj is fixed and the for sale sign is on it, im gonna start wheeling it again untill it sells so i'll be out atleast a few weekends a month hopefully.

The cost of fuel has really hurt the sport too....... I know I've been wheeling at least once a month and it always costs me over $100 for the day by the time I drive out there and back. Then there's park fees and food.......
Lately, I've been wheeling with friends privately and putting the fees I usually pay to the park into my gas tank.

Same here, with gas prices, BUlding, and just plain no time, it has been hurting. PPLus I am saving for Tellico, and trying to pay off my Bike this summer.
I will say that Rausch is trying to step up their game a bit. They are cutting new trails and have added some more difficulkt Red trails and hill climbs for everyone to try out!

Work has really been tough durring the weekends. Chances of me taking off are somewhat slim now. Plus the $$ issue. I dont have any debt, so it's not as huge of a problem, but the loss of a weekend of work is $200 and the costs for wheeling are $100. So technically that's $300 less of an income that my bank account sees. It might not sound like much, but it brings me farther away from my savings, jeep mods, & just plain money for screwing around.
I'd still like to wheel, I had origionally planned on every other month, but so far it's even looking hard for me to get that time off. So I'd prolly be lucky if I could arrange 4 with a good sized week long camping trip every year.
But at any rate. Keep up the monthly rides. Try to get the pics from each ride, and I'd like to see us a bit more active with Sira4x4.com. They're a decent group of people. Granted I have seen a slight Jeep only attitude from some of the non-officer members, which really does push some people away.

wow well im ready to get out there and wheel
come on guys this is a motor sport its going to cost a few dollars
if we are going to do monthly rides its easy to save 50$ a week so youll have money for gas and what not best way is to get a ride along split the cost and the driving in the park
anyway i would like to get out there for some monthly rides

i've been trying for over a year to hit the trails with this club but always have work conflicts. every scheduled ride i try to get off but haven't been very lucky. i'll keep trying. i'm always up for wheeling when i'm off, the cost of fuel and repairs is just another necessary evil associated with this 4x4 addiction.
