Looking for Cherokee under $3000

Hey guys, I'm located in New Hampton, NY (Orange County). I've been four wheelin' with some of my friends who own Jeeps and it's time I get one of my own. I'm looking for a Jeep Cherokee for under $3000. Scratches and dents in the body are not a big deal however I would like a clean interior. Basically I am looking for a platform that I can put a 3" lift and some mud terrains on and hit the trails. If anyone knows of a Jeep in this price range please let me know. Thanks.

Will keep my eyes peeled for XJ's under the 3 grand range. Best bet, get on auto trader and look whats around. If you need any parts, give us a call your right in our neck of the woods :)

I appreciate it man. I've been big into Mustangs (I'm part of the Tri-State Mustang club) and I've really been wanting to get into the four wheelin' scene. Can't wait to get my hands on a Jeep and start getting out there. So far I have been watching the local paper and autotrader.com but I haven't found any good Cherokees within 50 miles of me yet. I'm sure one will turn up.

Too bad you didn't want to spend a little more. In the next couple of months I'm gonna be selling my XJ and it would suit you perfectly. It has a brand new Rock Krawler 4.5" lift on it, with belly skid and gas tank skid, rear custom bumper yadda yadda its a 98 cherokee se with 60 thou ish on it I'm looking to get in the 6 grand range for it. It would be a perfect DD/Wheeler or even just a strict wheeler. Love that truck, but its time to move onto a buggy so I have no use for it. If your interested let me know, you can even come by and check it out if you want.

it's off a 94 XJ sport, beige in and out, 6 cyl, auto, 4dr. 191K on the clock, bout a half a mile from me. looks pretty solid from what i saw. one hole on the pass side rocker toward the rear, needs new tires. W/S says it runs 100%. no price but i can't see him asking more than $3K for it from what i saw. been sitting there for about 2-3 weeks now so unless he asks you for some unbelievably low number i would say you could knock at least $500 off the asking price if you showed up with cash on the spot. without hearing it run i would offer about $1500 and see if he bites. if it runs and drives perfectly, maybe go $2K.:bdance:
