Anyone know where i can get a 30RH 3 speed auto for my 2000 TJ? The thread down below about the torque converter is related to my jeep and the attempt to fix it failed
So now i'm off hunting for a new or used one locally or close by. I am in the beaver county area (pa) so if anyone knows yards or shops that carry the tranny, pls drop me a line.

I may have one do you have a pic or any way to identify it?
Maybe a rebuild? XTC Jeeper had his 3spd rebuilt and his tranny works great now. He had a problem with the motor stalling.

my gf's dad has been a dodge dealership mechanic for many years, so it was around $300 for all parts, and we did the rebuild in the garage, so that was my cost!

it's a 4 cylinder. The 4 bangers have the 30RH and the 6 cylinders have 32RH so they are a bit different. If it still has the torque converter, you can measure the bolt circle on the torque converter and if it's 8 1/2", it's probably what i have cuz that's the size i bought last week.

I will go with rebuilding if i can't find a complete tranny for around that price or maybe a little more.

Go to a local transmission shop and see if they will give you an estimate. But I would get the transmission done from someone you know.

$650 for a rebuild. $930 for a new one. $250 for a used one with 60k and includes a torque converter. I'm going used ;)

For anyone looking for jeep parts, i suggest you check that web site out. They are in ohio.
60k on a used Auto... It will need a rebuild much quicker? I would go new or rebuilt, so you dont have to worry about it for a long time.

Well from what i've been told about the 3 speeds it that they are strong transmissions that rarely have issues (if NOT used as a submarine like mine). The one i am getting was on a daily driven tj that was never 4wheeled. Davey said it runs and shifts fine. I think it'll work out pretty well.
$250 doesnt sound bad to me
justin everyone says get a rebuild or new when its not their vehicle... or go auto bs in my case. just screwing with ya
im in the hunt for a trans too. Im going to give those guys a call see if they have an ax15 or something laying around.

I checked ebay a few times. There's a 3 speed auto form 99 with the 231 included for $500 buy it now. Good deal but i'd have to drive to NY to get it.
I called daveys about an ax15 and its in the mail we'll see how it works next week... price wasnt too bad considering alot of douchebags want 900-1200 used

I picked up my 3 speed yesterday. Davey's an awesome guy. We spoke for a couple minutes about jeeps and all that. he has some newer tj's sitting out front that just need some fender and grill repairs. They are going for around $11k. 2006-2004 models. good deals! There's even the anniversary military tj there too, i think for $12k with fender/grill/bumper damage. Easily fixed.
If anyone of ya decide to go there, go with a TRUCK ;) The driveway leading up to the yard is literally a trail itself....fun :)
