Any local trucker shop. Or you can do it yourself. Buy a SWR meter get it from radio shack. Then find how to do it on http://www.google.com and then when you are done return the meter to get your money back :D

Here on LI, I could not find a Truck stop or a place that sells CBs. The only place is Radio Shack and I was told that the stores around here have stopped carrying SWR meters and would not get any in. Not to mention that they are fairly expensive. I was lucky because a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend had one and tuned my antenna for me. But apparently most truck stops can do it.

radioshack- buy an swr meter for 33 bucks and 2 ft of coaxial for 6 and use it in the parking lot. Tune your antenna, take it back and say that you dont really need it. Just did it tongiht before the paragon run. Went from 3 (wondered why i couldnt ever talk to anyone) to a 1.2 just from moving the magnamount location on my roof. Who would have thought if the antenna was touching the roof rack it f*cks up the signal really bad.

paid 22 bucks for mine online. don't have the link anymore, but any CB store online will usually have them. definitely something handy to have around, particularly if you have friends who might want to put radios in.

Good to know. I have only seen them for $60 and up.

the squelch i could see possibly being an antenna problem, but if you can't change the channel that radio needs to go back to where ever you bought it from. even with antenna problems you would still be able to change channels.

A lot of people use the Uniden 510XL or 520XL. I am not sure but I think that the 520 has PA output. Both are under $50.

I have a Cobra 19DX11 Its real small and has a pa output. I went over to Buzz Brothers off of rt 15 near the rockaway mall (across rt 15 from costco) to have the swr tuned. They are a cb shop and charge 5 dollars to tune one. If you buy something there they dont even charge to tune it. They sell that radio there for 50 bucks I think. I didnt buy mine there but the owner said it was a good radio.
