Hey does anyone know if there is a law on the maximum size of a tire in NJ?
Also what manufacturer do you recommend?
38" is the law. Or 6" over stock I beleive. Which ever is less.
I like the Truxus tires I had on the XJ. Those tires are awesome all around. I hope I can find a set of Iroks or SXs for the YJ...

How about wide? Can I do 35x13s or only 35x12.5s?

I run 35x13.50 on 10" rims.
you will need 6" flares to cover the tires and still be legal if you want to go that wide.

What kind of wheeling do you do? How often? DD?

A little rock, a little mud I prefer MT tires. Oh by the way not to sound dumb but what does "DD" stand for besides you know what  (demolition derby?) Oh and you have a really nice Jeep! :wtg:IIIII:wtg:

I've run a few different tires on my tj. I had super swamper ssr's on for a while. They were the best all around tires for mud, rocks, snow and street. I sold them to DAMOOSE on this board. I'm pretty sure he liked them too.
I ran goodyear mtr's for a while. They were ok but not that good in the mud. If you dont rotate them regularly they can wear funny and get quite loud. I wasnt impressed with them at all.
I run Toyo open country mt's now and they are my favorite. They dont chunk up half as bad in the rocks as the goodyears did. They stick as good as any other tire I have run in the rocks if you air em down enough and they are wearing great on the road.
Although nothing can beat the swampers in the mud. :)

How many times a month do you wheel? Are you looking for better road manners or off-road capability?
I run SSR's and they're great off-road and OK on road. They balanced out pretty well but there's road noise and poor wet traction.
I've heard great things about Trxxus tires if you're looking for more of an on-road tire with good off-road ability.
Thanks about the jeep!

I try to offroad evry weekend. I like the offroad capability better. And love the noisy type. :wtg:
