I have been thinking of doing a body lift to my 2005 wrangler. I am new to all of this and looking for some info. I have seen 1 inch through 3 inch body lift kits. Was told a 3 inch lift looks ugly and can ruin your tub after a while do to stress. Am leaning towords a 2 inch body lift. All so what brands are a good quality that will last. My tj is a manual. Will raising the body change any thing shifter wise. Any input or past experiances with certian brands is greatly excepted!

IMO, 1" is about as big as you should go. I put on a 1" body lift and the stick shift and the t-case shifter were fine. I really do not like them and the reason I did it is because I put on a 1" motor mount lift to help reduce driveline angles before I did the SYE. I think that all kits are basically the same. I am using the Performance Accessories kit.

If you want extra lift, consider a budget boost. It worked really well for me when I had 31s.

What comes with a budget boost?

the most common REBB comes with 1.75" spring spacers, longer shocks, and i believe bump stop extensions. You could also opt to go with buying the parts seperate as i did. I bought 2.25" spacers and OME long travel shocks, i also have a 1" bl added to that

I say no more then 1" body lift. Thats what I have been told and seen. Too big can be an issue. Stick with 1" body lift, then do a budget boost. They are cheap, and work great.

Just what Scott said. It comes with coil spacers front and rear, extended bumpstops and longer shocks front and rear and it only costs about $200.

Here is a link as to what is involved to install it. It is very easy to do.

The budget boost with the 1 inch body lift sounds like the way to go. I was looking at jeeps with diff. size body lifts on-line. Found one on e-bay with a 5 inch bl. Looked like shit! Thanks for the input guys.

I got my budget boost for 150 from www.performanceoffroadcenter.com. They have the RE one and they have their own. I got their's and it works just fine for me. it comes with the spacers, the bump stops, and the shocks.

You really don't even need the body lift at all if you go with the BB and stick with your 31s.

Here is a pic of mine when I had 31s and a BB, no body lift. No rubbing or anything and it was great offroad.

it's my favorite jeep color. that and aztec gold which you never see.

shrapnel, I'd skip the body lift and just go with a budget boost, especially if your cost conscious. I have 31s now, but I'm putting 32s on in a few weeks with my bb. I get around just fine with these guys. it's all about how you drive as much as how much clearance you have.

I love that color too. For some reason I always call it it Aztec Gold too but it is actually called Inca Gold. I always tell myself that one day when I finally get a flat fender to restore, I will paint it Inca Gold.

the company is great to work with. they are able to answer any questions that you have and they ship everything out quickly. I ordered by bb on Tuesday and had it Thursday.

i've dealt with porc in the past and wasn't very happy with the service i recieved but that could of been a fluke don't know as i never dealt with them again.

Good luck with the bb you'll be very happy, it gives great gains with minimal exspense. If you need any help with anything don't be afraid to give us a call at the shop, and if you need prices on anything drop us a line, plus we give discounts to tri-state members.
