Im in western NY(olean) now in school and am gunna be goin back home ta syracuse for the summer at the end of the month...wonderin if there are any places around in NY to go...legally. Out near olean there is so much land...but no one is willing to let people have a lil fun out here....only place I know of is up in the adirondacks, its a blast up there but far away. Anyone know of any other places closer or wanna go out with a couple of us from around the area?

I know of a few places near Binghamton area. Depending on where you are in the 'Cuse it's 30 min to an hour away. I have a friend with a cherokee that I try to hit trails with whenever we can. I also know a few places around Marathon and Cortland. Mainly power line access roads that aren't posted or blocked.
There's also a state forest on the Syracuse side of Cortland that has a steep power line access road that crosses at least 3 valleys. I didn't go very far down it as I had my wife and kids with me (and one was whining about having to pee....). We could easily have spent several hours out there.
