to check for blowby you need to do a cylinder leak down test different then a compression test. but what were your readings on all the cylinders?and did you do it with all the plugs out or in?

heres my take. if you have good compression and the engine runs strong i would first check the valve cover pcv valve system. i've noticed in the past the vacume port on the intake gets clogged or the vacume line from the port to the pcv valve colapses. your engine needs to breath and thats what the pcv (positive crankcase ventilation) system does. with the high miles and the symptoms you've described it sounds like a clogged pcv system to me. first trace the vacume line from the pcv valve to the intake manifold and unplug it at the manifold while its running, the engine rpm should go up and a vacume leak should be very obvious. if not its a clogged vacume port at the manifold. if there is really good vacume at the port check the line and the pcv valve. the lines break down over years and colapse and pcv valves clog. most mechanics dont replace pcv valves as part of a tune-up anymore, theres a good chance its original. good luck and let us know what you find.
