ok so its about 145 am and i just got in from working on my truck. I was coming back from the fire house and all of a sudden i started getting a nasty vibration.......worse then the normal jeep one. i slowed down to just under 30 miles an hour then it went away. so i got under neith and i saw that the ds to the front axle, had a loose u joint so i went to go pull it, well i didnt have a socket that fit right on the end of the tranny so i tried doing it with a wrench..........well that stripped it. so now i am going to call my friend from the fd that has a drag racer to see if he can let me use his garage.........im hoping that it is just the driveshaft's u-joint if not does anyone have any idea WHAT THE FUCK IT COULD BE as of right now my truck is OOS. Please any info would be greatly appreciated.
IM ABOUT READY TO FUCKING BURN THIS JEEP AND BUY A NEW ONE!!!!

It could be the shaft but what kind of work were you doing on it? if your track bar bolt is a loose it will do that. Check the axle side bolt. Have some one steer the axle and watch to see if it moves.
If all else fails you can run up here my lift is empty today and I am not doing anything 07860 is the zip to see if its too far.

hey bob thanx............well i started pulling the ds because i noticed that the u joint was really loose. I got the front four bolts out but now i cant get the ones out by the tranny. im going to see if its that bolt also needs to be tightened......Anyone have any ideas of how i can get this thing out?

Jeremy if a little heat and the proper wrench doesn't get it loose I can tourch the bolts out for you.
Did you have a vibration or did the searing wheel vibrate back and forth? Trying figure out what happened.

yeah the steering wheel and the truck did have a vibration before this wobble. it is definatly not the death wobble. i know i need a new ps box but i dont think that this is what it is because you can drive without power steering aND not have it wobble

well after taking toms advice i looked at the wheels and the front pass. side is missing a pretty big wheel weight. i can tell because of my nifty spray paint job i was able to tell the direct outline of where it was. Ill post a pic tom. I would take it tonight but its friggin freezing

Was there a bang first?
Maybe the front DS isn't the issue. Have you looked at the rear? Waht work were you doing before it started?

Problem is solved, it was the front shaft.
