Hey guys,
I know this seems a bit strange but i'm looking for a BROKEN hard top that will fit a YJ. Now i'm not looking for one that's in pieces, but if the back half is semi crushed then that's pretty much exactly what i'm looking for. Reason being is i want to attempt to convert it into a half hard top come spring/summer. I need the cab cover half intact as well as the area around the side windows closest to the doors for support (though i may be able to work around that if it's not too bad). yeah, i know the scrambler half hard top will work, but try and find one for under 500. I figure there's got to be someone out there that has one lying around waiting to be fixed, or knows someone that just got rear ended or something. I'm not looking to spend an arm and a leg (hoping to get the top for under $50 which is why i want a broken one), but if you guys ever come across something that you would think might work, then let me know. Thanks!

I've got a rough shape 87 original hard top, but structurally it's perfect. Looking for $200

thanks colin but that's more than i'm looking to pay for this project. that's why i'm looking for one that's damaged somewhere that i can cut down. had one from a guy on here for $25 just never got around to picking it up since i ended up having to push this project to the back burners. thanks anyway though!

no kidding, damn i thought you would have sold that a long time ago man. sorry about the long wait, but i've had to push this project to the back burners. ok, let's pick a date then. what days are good for you during the week or weekends. lately i've been working in north jersey so if you've got a day during the week that you can be around or are home mid afternoon on i might be able to swing by from one of those jobs. let the company pay for the gas to get down there. lol. I'll find out tomorrow what my schedule looks like for the next two weeks and let you know if i'll be in the area. if not i'll make a special trip down. refresh my mempory, you were west of 287 somewhere near I80 right? just so i know if i'll be around that area.

not so long ago. only february

the basic concept:

and i'm not crazy! i'm gifted with a natural instinct to tinker and an inner voice that is constantly saying "Sure, you can do that yourself!" lol. that just makes me look crazy at times. at least that's what the voices keep telling me.
