View Full Version : XEONs Tubing Bender Project
Well after looking at the prices of getting a cage and so on built. I have decided to do it mostly all myself. After looking at the prices on benders, then started reading on Pirate4x4 about people making there own benders. I was hooked, so now I am planning on making a bender.
Here is the images of the bender arms in SolidWorks 2004.

My friend Kris, some of you might know him as Camera Man. But hes going to school for this stuff so he will be able to get it cut out and so on.
Its goign to be made out of 3/4" plate and might make it a hydro bender. Depends on what I can get on eBay and so on. The arms are modeled after the JD Squared bender and dies.
Should look something like this when done:

Feel free to comment. Thanks!

If you are that dedicated to build one don't waste you time on a model 3 make the model 4 I had that m3 before my m4 and it was garbage it would never bend the same twice it was always off by a few degrees 5-10. and esier one to copy would be the hossfeld if you can find one. They are also a really good bender.
My freind hand machined the arms out here are some pictures:

The top arms are 3/4" plate and the middle arms are 5/8" plate of cold rolled steel. They might get hardened too along with the pins. The pins are solid steel. The main arm is 1" rod. I am making good use of my freinds college :).

Looking good. Are those 1/2 bolts? My buddy is going to drop me off one of his JD3 dies for you to duplicate.

The bigger bolts are Grade 8 3/4". I dont remember the smaller ones off the top of my head. Let me know when you get that die. I can pick up those perches and ram too while I am there. Thanks Joe.
