If you are looking for a cheap bender thats what you will get and if its for one or two projects it usually doen't pay. Most times you can have something built for less money than it would cost you for materials and tools. then factor in how much tubing you waste as a newbie and that puts you even more in the clear. But thats they way I would look at it. after all how many times are you really going to use it?

Oh yeah I like the JD squared one Have the model 4. so far the best bender I owned or used. previous was the model 3 and before that the Hosfeld was good but I had an older model and parts were limited.

I am building a bender made after the JD model 3 I think. But making it out of 3/4" plate getting either water jet cut, or milled out. My buddy can do that for me, plus the plate complments of his college :D. It will take JD dies too :). Pirate4x4 has a few nice writeups and lots of info on making your own, if you are interested.

I hear good things about the JDs. Heard the Pro Tools cheaper one breaks.
