Ok I know it's off Topic, But.......

While you're under there....

I think you might want to drain and refill your Diff's and Transmission as well. If the oil comes out white and contaminated then flush them out real good...Check over the seals for leaks also.

That is unless you want to replace them too...You were into that soupy slop, up to your doors for awhile.

Playing around in water like that can cost you the entire driveline if you're not willing to take some precautions..Muddy water will destroy your rig in a few weeks if you don't take care of it..Mud Eats Seals, Bearings and Gears....

I sealed off my entire bellhousing with RTV and vented it to the top of the engine compartment. Drill And tap in a threaded hose barb. Leave the drain hole at the bottom of the bell open.

My Diff's and T/C are vented the same way( NO Drain Hole Open in them though :lmao: )

Use 1/2" fule line to vent the T/C and Diff's. Then I have a Fuel Filter at the end to prevent dirt from entering thru. The T/C Trans and front diff are tied together with a 1/2" vacuum tree and vented thru one filter looped upside down in the engine compartment.

I've been playing in Deep Water a few times now, over the top of my tires and haven't had any problems.

On my last service the fluids were clean and water free...

Just some friendly advice....I had to learn the hard way too... :wtg:

well i vented every thing and my t case is shot because the rear seal was leaking and i didnt know it ... i did see a wet spot on the body but i thought it was just grease from the u joints i never thought it would be the seal only because its a new slip yoke e kit and i did not expect that ,,, i was able to salvage the t case though just some of the bearings were burnt up but its all good now i just need a new seal from advanced adapters... so ill see wat happens with that...

Just call up advanced adapters and ask for a national seal number than purchase it from your local auto parts store. I did the same thing years ago, this way you don't pay $5 shipping for a $3 seal.

Ok,

I split the thread so we could post on topic now... :ntopic:

I don't know about the Advance Adapters Kit. But, I too had problems with the Tom Woods Sye Kit on my rig.

It uses a New Rear cover on the t/case that is factory and made by Jeep.
It's just a different style. There are 2 seals on the output shaft. One is sandwiched inside the other.

On my kit, about 2 weeks after the install the outer seal "walked" out onto the DS and started leaking. I "staked" the Cover and reintstalled it. It "walked" again. I then contacted Tom and he sent a complete new cover assy. He said he knew about the problem and made good on replacing it.

( Yes he even piad the shipping both ways. I have been dealt with them in the past and they really do stand behind their product.).

It turns out that they have recently decided to use "windshield" Epoxy Sealer while installing the seal and that has solved the problem. I now have about 10k on the install without any problems.

You should carefully inspect the Yoke for nicks and scratches before installing it. Maybe that's what took out your seal? Just some food for thought.

Keep us posted..
