Yeah, the camry has nothing to do with offroading. But everyone here seems to be pretty good with troubleshooting things. My family is here in NJ for the night for a wedding. On the way to the hotel we realized that none of our gauges, except gas, were working. So we replaced the gauge fuse. Turned the car on and the gauges worked fine, but the check engine light was on. I put the car into drive and at that point all the gauges went dead and the fule went again. So there's a short somewhere. Any ideas? We're about three hours from home, and not sure if it's safe to risk driving the car this long. The car seems to function fine for the most part.

poke around near the shift lever and look for a pinched wire, since it happened when you put it in drive.

poked around everywhere i could get. seems to be just when you drive the car in reverse or when you goto drive and move through reverse slow. Just kept having my father start the car in neutral and go from there. Got home, was kinda worried at first. Gonna have family mechanic tinker with it, i really hate working on these cars.

Thanks for the reply though.
