January Ride (Offical Planning)

We need to start planning the First Offical Tri-State 4x4 ride!

Dates in late January, we also need to decide on a place to go. Right now I want to go to Paragon because its pretty close to everyone. A 2hour drive and 100 miles for me. So its not too big of a deal plus it might be faster because I wont be pulling a trailer. Lets find some dates that you would be able to attend. Saturday or Sunday of late January. Please post dates you are avaible. I want to get this planned so if you are working you can ask the day off or something.

I'm in.I usually go on Saturdays,that way I have Sunday to get the mess unloaded.I trailer it up.It's almost three hours for me towing.

Speaking for myself only, cause I tend to take backwards ways to everywhere, to get to Paragon, I take:

18 to 287 to 78 cross over into PA through Phillipsburg/Easton, then take 33N to 80W to 81S and all the way to the promise land.

I may be in depending on the date. I have been there on both Saturday and Sunday and I can tell you first hand that Sunday evening traffic is not very nice. My vote is for a Saturday ride.

Rubi,I usually go up the Pa TP-NE Extension to Rt 78 and then take 309 to Paragon.I takes less than three hours towing.I've never tried your way.

will have to let you guys know. costs me about 120 in gas and admission to run paragon and i'm not sure I'll have the money by then. there's a good chance i will though, and i'd love to try some snowy trails instead of mud for a change. any idea what level you were planning on running? highest I've ever gone was a triple blue i think. just don't have the clearance on 29's to challage the blacks.

Probally the lower level trails. I dont remember the colors but I am new and most people dont have the rig to handle more. If we need to we would split up and such. Probally above intermediate trails because most of us can do it stock too.. :D

yeah, when JF had the run in august we ran Rattler's tail and watching them on that one there's no way i would want to try a black with the jeep setup the way it is now. gotta get lots more armor before I'd tackle rocks that size :wink: fun to watch though!

I am up for some trails..I see that you guys want to do Greens and Blues. Its all good. When we get there we can split up in to several groups depending on how many Trucks. I will bring my XJ and I know several other jeeps that might want to go

I was on the Rattler last summer and didn't make it in past the first 500 feet... Had to turn it around park on the power lines and walk in. There was alot of body damage done on that trail. Did you see the trail on the opposite side of the power lines?? That was pretty rocky too...But, really fun to watch. LOL

actually i think the Rattler is a different trail. we were on Rattler's Tail. i don't think it was 500 ft long. more like 100. just a little loop off the Pipeline if i remember right. i remember seeing rattler on the map but haven't seen it in person. the tail was bad enough :wink:

i like to go if its a weekend day, since i work during the week, im a noob too, i just got the jeep all finished up this past summer and havent wheeled it yet, so i would be up for some of the easier trails too. I'd look foward to meeting some of you guys, any time in jan is good for me ill clear the day when you decide, im in north nj if anyone is going to be caravaning from there

I'm in that area too ( Not far from the Tri-state Monument ) so you can hook-up with me when we caraven if you want to.. As xeon says we're working on January, Hopefully Mid to Late after the holidays cool off...and I can get my rig straightened out...

I'm in if we wheel on that Saturday...Sunday is way much to have to put away the jeep and trailer before having to hit the sack...I get up at 3:15 in the morning...need a day to unpack and clean up! Any trail is good for me...I've run most of the trails at Paragon!

im always game for a ride, my jeep hasnt seen a trail in more than a week and hes not happy all clean. Im only about 1.5 hrs from paragon and by january ill be all set with a CB, some new springs in the back (no more AAL) and a new DS SYE setup.

Cool good to hear. Yea a CB would be a good idea so we can chatter and what not. Good to hear you all will be attending. Also if you have freinds interested in soem wheeling and joining this group please send them the site and invite them to come to Paragon!

It wouldnt hurt to give them a call.Joe and I have both done the training for guides.You need atleast one person in each group that has it,in addition to a minimum of three vehicles.As of right now I think there are three more Jeeps coming with Joe and I.

Nice rock rash... :) Well atleast you know how to drive. Most people (like me) wont even touch trails like that just because that reason. But I have an excuse its my daily driver. I cant get it busted up too much. I mean the paint job is ugly enough :)

This was my daily driver until two weeks ago,I finally got a normal XJ to drive back and forth to work.It's nice having a vehicle that's water tite and you can have a conversation in without yelling.

well the way it looks everything is lookin good for me for the 29th. I do have a CB and ill prolly be drivin the zuk since im only about an hour from paragon

i still got to get my locker installed at least but that shouldnt be a problem at this point...i only got 3 weeks to do it in... might have my springs swapped around too if i have the money for the poly bushings

One thing i dont have is a winch so i cant do any trails too crazy.
