Does anyone have an idea how close the Pine Barrens are to Ocean City, Maryland? Or does anyone know of any other offroading spots in the Ocean City area? Thanks in advance.

Pine Barrens are about 3 hours north of Ocean City, MD, but I'm pretty sure you can get a permit to drive on the beach at Asseteugue Island.

Yes you can get a permit for Asseteuge and Chincoteague Island.We went last year.I think the permit was $75- for the year.
