Not to get off topic... but if you have a shake in the front end. Its probally not your tires. It could be a small death wobble. Make sure your track bar is tight and all the brackets are sound. Make sure your steering stablizer is still good. I had death wobble and it just rocked my axle back and forth. It feels like you are going to die... Anyway check it all over, it might not be your tires.

yeah i was reading around and u may be right on that, but heres the thing, im a complete noob w/ jeep suspensions, need someone to physically show me whats what, im more of an engine guy... :-?
and not to get to off topic, but does this site have any of the tristate 4x4 stickers or a shop to get stuff...
We are out of stickers. And we dont have a shop. But if you click on Offical Members and scroll all the way down. You will see Tri-State Vendors. Those are the guys who sell products to our board for cheap. Send them a PM with what you are intestested in. Hope this helps!

Where ya at? i could give your rid a once over, im no pro but i had a few minor death wobble probs on my chero, so i know where to look. A good place to start is if you have lift, do you have and adjustable trac bar? if so like justin said make sure everything is tight. That is usually the prob somewhere in the trac bar, mine i had a ghey drop bracket and it was nothing but problems for me, switched to an adjustable one and it fixed everything

yeah so i get under the truck to check en see if all is good, well i have a leak from the steering box (i think), theres fluid on the pitman arm and the sournding area, the steering box is covered w/ fluid, would this cause a wobble, also my front tires r getting chopped up, uneven treadware, so definitly somethings wrong, so yeah if anyone can look at my jeep to let me know what needs attending, ill get it fixed...
thanks...
Go get your XJ aligned. If your box is leaking that really wont cause the wobble, but probally from the wobble that happened. Just check to make sure you have enough fluid in the pump and you should be good. Definitally get your truck aligned after any suspention altercation. Hope this helps!

I wouldn't rule out the steering box. If the gears are worn and thats why its leaking than that could cause a wooble. But there are lots of other things it could be too, alignment, tie-rod ends, track bar, bad tire, etc.

not really, the ball joints tie-rod ends and a loose track bar are all pretty cheap. the steering box is the only one that could be a little expensive. Just save the alignment for last. If they do an alignment and don't check the rod ends or ball joints when you replace one if its bad you will need another alignment.

Justin I can see talking to your truck but to get into a altercation with your suspension you may want to see a shrink.:lmao:

A good list that we use to check for death wobble is bad parts, mis matched parts or out of alignment.
Bad parts would include bad tie rod ends, bad trackbar ends, bad ball joints, bad steering box, bad steering stabilizer, bad wheel bearings, and loose lug nuts. Theese are the most common ones I have encountered over the years.
Mis matched parts would be wrong track bar with pitman arm. and othe mis matche steering parts to change the geometry of the steering.
If needed you could call and I could do my best to help.
