What winch do you use? Let me know what you have, how good it is, and how much you paid. Thanks! I am looking into some winches and I want to get an idea what to get. Thanks! :D

I have a milemarker 9000lb electric that I bought with the mounting plate off of ebay for $425. It has served me well since I have had it. It is a slow pulling winch, but I have used it to get me out of many places.

Ramsey REP8000 on my zuki, had a Ramsey Pro Plus 9000 on my previous Jeep. Both work(ed) extremly well. No problems. Cannot remember prices.

i'm also looking to buy a winch soon. it won't be used much so i don't need a top of the line one. i was looking at a mile marker 9000, a superwinch 9000, a ramsey 8500, or a warn 8000, any pros or cons with these brands?

From what I hear, Milemarker is made by Warn but its the nissan of the infinity you know? The cheaper one. I am getting a Warn M8000 I think...

Heres what I would do. Warn, Ramsey, then the others... :)

I kicked this thought around for somtime before I bought a winch. Heres what I came up with:

What winch do I see more than any other on the trail?

Youll drive through Paragon or RC and see a 10 differant jeeps with 10 differant brand or combo lift kits, but Id bet 9 out of the 10 would have WARN winches. Experience carries a lot of weight with me. I read about guys arguing all the time about which tires are better, or whos lift kit is better, BLABLABLA. BUT, I never hear a person depute over a WARN winch and its those things that swayed me. Winching is somthing that if done half-assed or with the wrong equipment can be VERY dangerous. I think having a good, reliable winch is cheap insurance. My vote would be with a WARN. And now Im stepping down away from the podium!

I personally have used Warn winches for longer than I can remember. They are unquestionably the best.

How are SuperWinches?
I am looking at a "Superwinch S9000 9000lb winch" on eBay and its going for $350 and its basically new.
It looks really nice and comes with everything. Let me know what you guys think!

I think if you were going to rank the next 2 winches BEHIND a Warn, superwinch and ramsey would probably tie for second place. Then maybe a milemarker. Ive heard good things about the MM hydro winch, but those things are silly.

I can speak from experiance on this one I own a milemarker Hydro and there is nothing better or stronger. That is a very reliable winch. But it does have its drawbacks like the truck needs to be running that can be a drag. However I have also own a warn wich I still use to this day on my comp rig (hs9500) I have also owned a ramsey it was ok I would not recomend it nor the superwinch was a total piece of garbage. Good Luck in choosing but definitly run amsteel blue it is so much safer and easier to handle

I just installed a Warn M8000 and got to use it for the first time. I went for a quick ride on a snow covered local trail and found a mud hole that was not as frozen as i thought. The winch pulled the tj great.
